There are a number of things to consider when performing an engine swap.
These GM motor mounts allow flexibility for different engines, transmissions, and even vehicles. These mounts will fit GM V8s and 4.3L V6s with a triangular 3-bolt boss on the engine block. The way this kit is designed, it can be made to fit a GM engine to an FJ40, FJ60/62, and even an FJ80.
- Kit includes two engine side mounts, scab plates, two weld-in gusseted frame mounts, rubber mount kit, mounting hardware kit, and Land Cruiser instruction manual.
- Requires measuring, cutting, and welding. This is not a bolt-on kit. You have to make it work for your specific application.
- To obtain proper front driveshaft clearance, the engine should be offset 1/2" to 1" to the driver's side of the vehicle.
- Depending on your engine selection and transmission type, you will find that the Toyota Land Cruiser has ample room. Due to the various combinations of engines / transmissions available, we suggest you consider all of the options before final drivetrain location is established.
Keep in mind that the original driveshaft length can be maintained - provided the transfer case is kept in the original location. Many times customers will sacrifice engine location to eliminate driveshaft modifications. These decisions can only be made by you and/or your builder.
