Transmission Adapter - 1997 & up GM 4L60E, 4L65E/Land Cruiser T-case - FJ40, FJ45, FJ55 1963-1973

SKU: 524-102
Model: FJ40, FJ45, FJ55
Year: 1963-1973

When deciding to do a conversion, the first step is to select the type and size of engine you would require. You should consider things such as dependability, power, economy, speed, price range, adaptability, and availability of equipment and parts.

With reference to engine conversions, the Chevy V8 seems to be the most popular option. These adapter kits will adapt your Land Cruiser's transfer case to a GM automatic transmission that will bolt directly to a Chevy V8. Most of the time, these conversions require driveline and floor pan modification.

- Adapter material is 356 T6 heat treated aluminum alloy.

- Kit includes adapter housing, late 4L60E 6 to 4 bolt adapter, 10 spline spud shaft, GM VSS sensor, t-case shifter bracket, retainer, sealed bearing, gasket, nylon lock nut, fastening hardware, and adapter instructions.

Transfer Case: This adapter assembly fits 1963-9/73 10 spline transfer cases (originally mated to a 3 speed transmission). The drive gear has 10 internal splines and a diameter of 1.375”. These cases are equipped with a vacuum style shifter.

Transmission: The adapter kit is designed for exclusive use with 1997 & up 2wd 4L60E / 4L65E. These 4 speed overdrive transmissions are featured in late model GM trucks. The output of this transmission has a 6 bolt hex pattern. An extra adapter is included in this kit that will convert the output to a 4 bolt pattern which is compatible with the adapter housing.

*Note: It is not practical to adapt an automatic transmission to the Land Cruiser's 6 cylinder engine. The length of the engine, coupled with the length of the automatic transmission causes problems with the fuel tank, transfer case linkage location, and driveshaft angles.

Please allow 5-7 days before shipping. This item is custom made at time of order and dropped shipped directly from our manufacturer.
